  2. Project Scope • This project will develop a new IPhone/mobile application for Airline Company’s. • This iPhone/mobile application will help travelers to use multiple features such as: • Making reservations • Check in for flights • Use barcode for boarding pass • Check flight status • Account access • Airport maps • Rapid rewards • The iPhone/mobile application will put valuable travel information in the palm of the users hand for easy and fast services.

  3. Purpose of the Project • Ideally they should be one-stop shopping for the entire user’s flying needs. • The developed software is compatible in all handled devices like BlackBerry, iPhone and Android devices. • Going green by making as paperless boarding pass. • The new application allows club members to manage their account and reservations, check-in, and access real-time flight information. • Integrating third party tool called Baggage Claim is the app that keeps track of the luggage arrival when traveling. • More and more people are using mobile devices to access the internet, there is absolutely no excuse not to have an app of some sort. • To ensure that the application launched successfully the team needed to carefully target the smart phones that customers would use to download their apps.

  4. Risks and Impacts Some risks of this project are the following: • Poor reception and the inability to access the app • Could slow boarding process if internet becomes inaccessible. • The app will need to be user friendly for all ages • Privacy Risks • Possible Airline Security and Terrorism • Example Southwest app was recently found to be unencrypted and easy to be hacked.

  5. Potential Benefits Some benefits of this project are the following: • Travelers can have easy access to check-in, flight status, air reservation and loads of other information instantly. • Travelers can save the time of printing by presenting their boarding pass on their phone. • Save precious time at the airport, and during boarding process. • Up-to-date airline information just a touch away. • Building a close relationship by linking airline with its customers.
