  3. SRFB Round VIII + PSSRC • SRFB sets a target allocation for the Puget Sound region – TBD • Use historical or Puget Sound Partnership allocation method? – PSSRC March 29th • WRIA 8 - $430,000 in 2006 • WRIA 8 - $ ? 2007

  4. SRFB Round VIII + PSSRC • Lead Entities follow traditional SRFB process – • solicit grants, • project subcommittee review with SRFB technical reviewers • W8 SRC Recommendations • WRIA 8 List submitted to Shared Strategy and SRFB.

  5. Timeline April Application forms available May Pre- proposals due to LE Coordinator May Project site visit June 21? Salmon Recovery Council reviews recommendations Sept LE forwards recommended projects to Shared Strategy/SRFB October SRFB Review Panel December Grant Decisions

  6. 3- Year Work Plan A planning document that will change year-to-year based on WRIA 8 Salmon Recovery Council direction and opportunities that arise consistent with the Conservation Strategy

Guiding Principles 3-Year Work Plan - 2006 • Consistent with Conservation Strategy • Sufficient number and scope to achieve 10-year plan objectives • Meet broad funding objectives • Use Plan’s prioritization efforts • Sequencing - recognize potential interactions and synergies • Projects directly linked to habitat change – focus on desired outcome of projects

  8. 3- Year Work Plan - 2006 Followed Guiding Principles from April 6th Steering Committee Meeting • Secure high risk populations • Include actions for NLW and Issaquah Creek • Respond to TRT and NOAA Supplemental • Use “Treatment “ results • Include Adaptive Management and Monitoring

  9. 2007 Update Process • Issaquah Restoration Projects – • Sub-group reviews EDT modeled projects • Technical Committee recommends projects for 10-year Start-list and sub-set for 3-year work plan based on guidance • 3-year work plan revisions due to change in feasibility

  10. 2007 Update Process – con’t • Clarify monitoring in 3-year work plan • Revise Narrative – • Add Hatchery and Harvest placeholder sections • Update sequencing • Update H-integration

Decisions: 3-year work plans & SRFB Round VIII • Solicit projects consistent with 3-year work plan and on Plan’s Start-list. • Add Technical Committee’s update recommendations to 3-year work plan. • Use interim 3-year work plan for SRFB process to start. • Revised 3-year work plan - - to Salmon Recovery Council for approval in May.
