1. About Preorders Preorders provides a totally electronic means for orders to be entered and stored prior to the patient’s admission to a bed. The provider entering the order selects a date or date range that these orders can be used. A copy of these preorders is stored in StarPanel. Once the preorders are entered, a “p”alerts displays to the left of the patient name on the wiz stat screen and in the orders column on the inpatient. Dashboards were created as a communication tool for the health care team re: preorders. Once the patient is admitted to a bed, the preorders should be played back – usually by the MR or Charge nurse. Some orders such as chemo and research orders require an electronic approval by an attending in order to be played back – these will not show up play back until they are approved. There are 2 ways to play back orders – through wiz or through starpanel. How To Playback PreOrder in WIZ/ HEO From the WIZ/HEO Census Screen: 1.Double click patient name 2.Click Manage PreOrder (list of preorders with today as playback date will be displayed) 3. Verify the correct preorder set is selected- ie only select “signed” orders 4. Click Playback 5. PreOrders load, scroll to bottom and click Next. The orders will load & flash across the screen 6. Click Next The preorders report will be displayed. This document is also sent to starpanel and if wiz were down during the time you needed to playback the orders you could access this document in starpanel, print it and use for downtime orders. 7. Scroll to bottom of the View/ Playback orders screen, Click Playback Orders 8.Click Yes to “Are You Sure?” WIZ/ HEO will close once orders are played back and a Physician Order Sheet and requisitions will print.
