  2. Scientific Investigation • Understand experimental tools, procedures, and design (e.g., identify variables and controls) and compare, extend, and modify experiments (e.g., predict the results of additional trials)

  3. Steps of the Scientific Method Problem / Question Observations / Research Develop a Hypothesis Experiment Collect and Analyze Results Make Conclusions

  4. Steps of the Scientific method • Problem/Question: Develop a question or problem that can be solved through a study experimentation.

  5. Steps of the Scientific Method • Observation/Research: Make observations and research your question • Formulate a Hypothesis: Predict a possible answer to the problem or question.

  6. Steps of the scientific method • Experiment: Develop and follow a procedure • Collect and Analyze Results: Modify the procedure if needed. Confirm the results by retesting. Include tables, graphs, and photographs.
