  2. התחל רחב ממטרות המחקר וצמצם בהדרגה לשאלות מחקר ספציפיות יחסית מטרות המחקר: רחבות ככלל במחקרים איכותניים ופרשניים מטרות המחקר יהיו כמעט זהות לשאלות המחקר במחקרים כמותניים השאלות יהיו מצומצמות ביותר. לעיתים תהייה רק שאלה מחקרית אחת נושא המחקר פחות רחב מהמטרות יותר רחב מהשאלות שאלות המחקר: מצומצמות יותר יש לך שאלו ברורות? ועכשיו מה ? האם הם מובילות לטיעון מעניין ?

  3. בחירת שאלת המחקר היא בחירה קריטית שכן את/ה למעשה מחליט על כיוון הקריירה המחקרית או המקצועית שלך

  4. התחל את שאלת המחקר עם המילים: • מה ? • כיצד ? • מדוע ? • למה? • ואל תשכח את סימן השאלה ?

  5. What type of research question is problematic? • It starts with “How can I…” • It suggests a “yes” or “no” answer. • It is rhetorical. • It includes vague or ambiguous language.
