Stephen, because of his public preaching, antagonized the unbelieving Jews who had him stoned to death. Thus he became the first Christian martyr.

And the word of God kept on spreading; and the number of the disciples continued to increase greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were becoming obedient to the faith.
All of us MAY have to SUFFER and SERVE in whatever capacity is needed.
And EVEN be asked to lay down our lives for the SAKE of our Lord and MASTER
