  2. Explanation • The guitar is a six stringed instrument made of wood that is used all over the world. • There are three popular guitar types: the acoustic, the electric, and the bass. Each guitar has its different styles and sounds.

  3. Brief Timeline of the Guitar • 1779 – First six string guitar appears. • Late 1800’s – First steel string guitar released. • 1930 – Epiphone and Gibson come out with the electric guitar. • 1952 – Gibson introduces the famous Les Paul model.

  4. Major Changes • The body has been increased. • The proportions were altered. • The revolutionary “fan” top bracing pattern was adopted.

  5. Effects of the Guitar • Although the guitar has made people cut down a lot of trees,  it has given people, like Jimmie Hendrix and Slash, a way to express themselves and make amazing music . • Without guitars, the music world just wouldn’t be the same.
