  1. SFX Black History Month 2013 • As part of activities to mark the impending Black History Month celebration in October. A month long line up of diverse events all falling under the theme, “I have a Dream” have been planned by some students in the college. • The month of October will be dubbed “The Dreams Month”

  2. THEME- “I HAVE A DREAM” • We’ve chosen this theme because of an inspiration from Martin Luther King Jr. We aim to use this platform to: • Motivate students to raise their aspirations and work harder towards their goals. • Provide an opportunity for students to enrich their knowledge on key events and turning points in history that are still relevant in society today.

  3. THE DREAMS MONTH IN FOCUS Activities and events scheduled for October include: • The SFX Dreams Book • Quiz competition • Debate • Educational and Motivational talks • LRC Poetry Writing • Spoken Word Competition • LRC Book Review Competition • Exhibitions • Film shows/Movie Screening • Career Progression talk • The SFX Dreams Conference

  4. THE SFX DREAMS BOOK • A “Dreams” book will be opened throughout the month of October with the aim of getting all students to write their dreams, hopes, goals and aspirations in life • This book will be completely anonymous and we hope by getting students to do this it will generate an element of excitement and an internal zeal among most individuals to commit and work towards fulfilling their dreams. • It will be bound and published as “The SFX Dreams Book 2013” with a copy placed in the LRC after the celebration.

  5. Successful individuals from diverse fields of endeavour will be invited to college to a conference where they will all share their stories The Conference is aimed to: • Provide an opportunity for students to meet and create a platform to network with outstanding individuals. • Motivate students to aspire and work towards achieving their goals.
