Client Preparation

1. Becoming work-ready

You will always be in a better financial position if you work rather than staying on benefits. You should be accessing local employment services that offer training, guidance and work preparation courses.

When you live independently you will have housing benefit paid directly to you. How will you make sure that you can pay your rent, utilities and other expenses on time? Speak to your support worker about developing you budgeting skills.

3. Saving

Whether you are working or on benefits you should always try to save money. Think about the future; one day you might want to move to a different area or buy your own property. Research available saving schemes with your support worker.
