  1. 2012 PASMA Accomplishments • Ladderway Openings (Sec. 1621) - contacted other construction industry stakeholders, re: proposed changes, rulemaking terminated based on stakeholder comments. • Employer Duty To Pay for PPE – PASMA participated with other stakeholders – based on stakeholder comments, rulemaking terminated. • Tree Work Regulations (Sec.3420) - PASMA submitted comments to Standards Board, re: First Aid/CPR requirement; not all public agency workers considered ‘tree workers’. • ATD Regulation (Sec. 5199) - PASMA attended advisory committee to discuss proposed changes allowing use of N-100/P-100 respirators – proposal expected in a few months.

  2. 2012 PASMA Accomplishments • Machinery & Equipment (Sec. 3328) - Oral/written comments presented, objecting to incorporation of manufacturers recommendations as defacto regulations – proposed regulatory changes terminated. • Incorporation by reference: PASMA submitted opposition comments to Office of Federal Register – ‘pay to play provision’. • PASMA contacted legislators to amend Sec. 342a – lack of statute for reporting injuries; Assemblyman Morrell is interested in sponsoring legislation to change 342a.

  3. 2012 PASMA Accomplishments • PASMA contacted legislative staff opposing AB 533, limiting industrial hygiene work to CIH(s) only. ASSE also opposes. • Bill Taylor spoke at PASMA-North Conference in October.
