  2. WHATISCarbon Fibre? Info it is also known as ‘’PTFE’’ or Polytetrafluoroethye PTFE is a fluorocarbon. consists of: carbon and fluorine

  3. History -It was acccidentally made by Roy Plunkett of Kinetic Chemicals in 1938 in New Jersey . He was attemping to make a new CFC refridgerator. the perfluorethylene combined in the pressurized container with the iron acting as a catalyst. Kinetic Chemicals patented it in 1941 and was registered as the Teflon trademark in 1945

  4. Early uses -It was used for the valves and seals in the pipes containing very reactive uranium hexafluoride in the K-25 Uranium Processing Plant THAT THING

  5. Carbon Fibre • It is called Carbon fiber reinforced polymerorcarbon fiber-reinforced plasticalso called CFRP or CRP • is a very strong, light, and expensive composite material. • Similar to Fiberglass

  6. Carbon Fibre is probably has the best Strength to weight ratio • It is used in cars, bikes, bicycles, Wheels, Tripods, Sailboats and other things that need to be lightweight and strong
