MIGRATION TO GERMANY. First labor migration from Turkey to Germany between Turkish Foreign ministry and Szhleswig - Holstein Ministry of labor was made in 1957. It was called Economical Migration in Turkey. As a result of this agreement, 12 craftsman went to Kiel in April,1957.

  2. It was called Economical Migration in Turkey.

  3. As a result of this agreement, 12 craftsman went to Kiel in April,1957. • It was just a beginning of the flow of migration to different countries.

  4. TherewereseveralagreementsaboutimmigrationbetweenTurkeyand; Federal Republic of Germany : in 1961 Austria,TheNetherlands,Belgium : in 1964 France : in 1967 Australia : in 1968

  5. Reasons of theflow of migration • A great amount of young population and • Economical problems

  6. In 1972 the amount of immigrants: 655.000, • In 2002, according to Federal Republic of Germany statistic department, the number of the Turkish citizens living in Germany: 1.912.200.

  7. Up until today,620.000 Turkish citizens are on the status of German citizen. • In the recent 40 years ,three million Turkish people immigrated to Germany.

  8. The immigrants’ lifestyle,clothes and the products they use in daily life were different in Germany.So,they carried lots of innovations through their visits to Turkey. • For instance,chocolate is not a traditional taste for Turks but,the immigrants brought chocolate as gift. • Thanks to immigrants,Turkish people liked the taste of chocolate.

  9. As known all over the world,automotive industry is advanced in Germany. • It was an advantage for engineer / mechanic immigrants to get improvement about their job. • At that time,when telecomunication was not so fast(no internet,tv,transportation etc…), lots of innovation could be carried.

  10. Due to this intense migration,Turkish people and The German have made a friendship. • If there is a football match in Germany between Turkish team and German team,you can see this kind of flags along the streets.

  11. This immigration is seen as an important foreign currency for Turkey and young employee for Germany.
