  1. Why You Should Not Fail to Service Your Car On Time Servicing is a mandatory task you need to complete if you own a car. If you fail to accomplish the task periodically, you should be prepared to face the unwanted consequences. Again, servicing your car calls for monetary expenses that often turn off car owners. And many car owners believe that they can save money by postponing the servicing. But, you should avoid it because that is a bad practice. Let us assume that you are one of the car owners who like to postpone car servicing to save money. So, let us examine what can happen next. Suppose your car has developed a minor defect, and it will go unnoticed in the absence of service. Subsequently, the minor defect can aggravate into a significant flaw, which can compromise safety apart from entailing more money outgo in fixing it. Clearly, you will lose money in such a case instead of saving by postponing servicing. Again, the need to service your car periodically does not imply that you should not keep a tab on your servicing expenses. If your car develops a defect, you should not take your car to the nearest service station. Instead, you should ask for quotations from different service stations to make a car repair estimate with the best price. Car Servicing Costs Components Before you take your car to the service station, you should make an effort to figure out the different cost components. And, the intent is clear–you need to decide the best price. In this context, you need to note that trying to figure out an average car servicing cost will be a futile endeavor as there cannot be such a thing, given the associated complexity. Typically, three significant factors make up the car servicing cost: the service's complexity, the kilometers your car has traveled, and the mechanic's charges. But, more aspects come into the picture when you purchase a new car. You need to take your car for a minor check-up after 30 days in such a case. After that, you need to take your car for

  2. a minor service after six or twelve months or a certain number of kilometres. And that is not the end. Then, you need to do a major car service at the recommended intervals. Moreover, other factors, like petrol or diesel, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, price capped or not, also contribute to the car servicing bill. Car Servicing Types There is no unified car servicing schedule, which differs from manufacturer to manufacturer. And there are two types of car servicing–major and minor. And, the cost of a major service is always higher than a minor service. You should know the difference between the two car servicing types before taking your car to a service station. Minor Car Servicing A minor car servicing involves the mechanic checking engine oil and other fluids levels. The servicing also involves greasing the car and rotating the tyres. Typically, a minor service is necessary every 10,000km. Major Car Servicing A major car service involves a full inspection and tuning-up of your car. The mechanic needs to follow the guidelines in the logbook. Typically, the service involves wheel alignment, spark plug replacement, wheel bearings, suspension check, brakes and brake fluid check, filter checks and replacements, engine and transmission oil testing and replacement, battery tests and other general checks. Usually, the necessity for a major service arises every— 30,000 km. If your car has developed a defect, you need to pay to fix it. But, do not fail to do an auto repair estimate beforehand. Conclusion You should never postpone servicing for your car but service it as per the schedule. But, you should analyze the costs and go for the best deal to get the best value for your money.
