  2. 月儿弯弯,像只小船在天边, 伴着星星,,眨着眼睛向我看。 The Moon Our nearest neighbour is the moon. It goes around the Earth about every 27 days.

  3. The moon does not make its own light. It reflects light from the sun. So we can see it. The moon is very different from the Earth. It is very hot during the day but very cold at night. On the moon there are craters and mountains. But there is no air. So nothing can live there. When the moon’s gravitational force pulls on water on the Earth, it makes tides—the rise and fall of sea levels. This is important for ships. Did you know? We always see the same side of the moon. The moon always keeps the same side pointing towards us so we can never see the back of the moon from the Earth!

It is near the beginning of a New Year in the country. On that day, people usually spend the afternoon outside. They celebrate the festival with food, games and funny jokes.
