  1. Spotlight On TaylorMade M6 Drivers The TaylorMade M6 driver has been designed to stretch the limits of manufacturing and speed. These M6 drivers are the flagship product of the new TaylorMade lineup of metal woods, and they are so fast, they are just this side of illegal. So, here we’ll shine a spotlight on the M6, so you can make an informed purchase decision for your game. Conforming to Regulations Of course, M6 drivers have been designed to conform to the rules of golf and are ultimately legal for play. According to TaylorMade, the complex, intricate manufacturing process has ensured that the face conforms to USGA testing for spring-like effect, but it also pushes the edge of the rules for any driver in the marketplace today. According to TaylorMade’s vice president of product creation, Brian Bazzell, the company has tried to push every head beyond legal limits and as consistent as possible. The company has adopted the mantra to do whatever is possible at the last possible second to get a tighter tolerance. The theory is that it is easier to make the face flex over the limit, before bringing it back to the conformational state than to try and get it right to the edge without ever going over. Since traditional manufacturing methods typically result in a conservative approach to avoid being non conforming, TaylorMade argues that this leads to being well short of the limits on the finished head. 2. Thinner Heads with a Larger Sweet Spot The new M5 and M6 drivers have also extended the fast section of the faces to a larger region. Officials say the face is up to 20 per cent thinner compared to previous models with a sweet spot 100 per cent larger than the 2015 original M1. This larger area means that amateurs should enjoy the double benefit in mis-hits towards the heel. The TwistFace introduced on the M3 and M4 drivers last year is also featured on the M5 and M6. This also helps to correct common mishits curving them back to the centre line more closely. The M6 driver line emphasises sleek aerodynamic shapes, fighting a slice towards a draw bias. Other Models in the Range The larger fairway woods and hybrids are also tailored for better face flexing, The cut through sole slot has been improved, particularly for a lower impact on the face. The slot has a thermoplastic urethane strip sitting flush with the sole to boost turf interaction. M6 fairway woods also have a weight saving crown of carbon composite and will be offered with a D type option to help fight slicing. Both the all steel hybrids and the fairway woods will feature a C300 high strength steel face insert.
