  8. Warm Up! • Write down question on your warm-up sheet. • Use formula below to show work to find the answer. Q: What is the slope of the line below?

  9. Graphing Buggy Lab

  10. What is the slope of the line? What does it tell us? What does our graph tell us? Slope = (Y2-Y1) / (X2-X1)

  11. SSR TODAY You need to be in YOUR seat READING something quietly. No one will be up moving around during the hour. If you are not reading something you need to be QUIET. You should always have something with you to read. If you would like something to read please come to my desk.

  20. Review Questions Time measured in seconds, Variable on the X-axis What was the independent variable in our lab activity? • What was the dependent variable in our lab activity? Distance or position of the buggy car, measure in meters on the Y-Axis

  21. You can recognize constant velocity or speed of an object by the property of line. Constant motion shows a straight trend line. • How would you recognize a graph of an object traveling at a constant velocity/speed? • What physical quantity does the slope of the line represent? Speed

  22. Using your graph, what is the position of your buggy car at 5 seconds and 11 seconds? How did you go about finding your answers? • What does your graph tell you about the relationship of the buggy cars position and time? As the time that the buggy car travels, the distance or position of the buggy car increases at a constant rate.

  23. Constant The velocity of the car has constant velocity because the slope of the line is straight and shows no change in the trend of the line. • Is the velocity of the car constant or not constant? ___________________ How do you know?

  24. Questions??
