  4. CLASSIC GOLDEN CIRCLE TOUR

  5. Itinerary The Golden Circle begins your journey into the heart of Iceland's Southern Region, stopping at some of Iceland's most renowned landmarks. You will travel through Iceland's magnificent natural landscape and explore historical sites. The national park of Thingvellir is the first stop. Thingvellir is situated in a rift valley where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates collide, making it a must-see for history, geology, and culture enthusiasts. Then take in the splendor of Gullfoss Waterfall, or the Golden Waterfall as it is known in Icelandic. Gullfoss is also the site of one of Iceland's most well-known environmental protests. There is enough time here for a lunch break at Gullfoss Café. We arrive at the exploding location of the renowned Geysir hot spring after a short drive. It explodes every 6-10 minutes and is also known as Strokkur. The day comes to a close with a dip in Iceland's oldest known pool. The open air geothermal pool is ideal for a two-hour visit to unwind and reflect on the day's activities.
