Career guidance in initial education in context of LLL Strategy – upper secondary • 1.E. 4. promote the availability of individualized career guidance for all students and secondary school graduates, providing information and guidance assistance in the area of employment possibilities and related education. • Firstly create the conception of career guidance at level of upper secondary schools • Development of school provision on guidance services • Not only counselling for education opportunities but for work life • Development of further education of pedagogical staff system in career guidance

Career guidance in initial education in context of LLL Strategy – tertiary • 2.E. 3. promote the development of a career guidance system at highereducational institutions; extend psychological and studyguidance to include the aspect of career guidance. • Continuously motivate tertiary education providers in extending counseling services including career guidance aimed at further/adult education • Extend intra evaluation system on career guidance quality evaluation

Develop an information and guidance systemfor adult education • 3.G. 1. interconnect currently separate databases of educational opportunities (public and private) into a complex information system providing comprehensive information on learning and guidance opportunities • 3.G. 2. ensure the quality (reliability) of information in AE and its regular updating, disseminate information through various media so that it is accessible for all target groups This objectives will be implemented with ESF

Develop an information and guidance systemfor adult education • 3.G. 3. provide for an increase in the quality of guidance services through improving the methodology of work with adult clients and preparing methodology for working with specific groups of clients, train the employees of counselling and information services in new methods and individualized procedures • 3.G. 4. through extending the capacities of guidance services and interconnecting their components, provide for the comprehensiveness of counselling services and the in availability for all interested persons

Inter-ministerial cooperation in career guidance tasks • January 2009 – was established inter-ministerial working group • Common course in implementation of LLL Strategy • Common course in LL career guidance (first meeting 24.3.09) • Key issues discussed • National lifelong guidance forum (role of Labour Services, social partners, etc.) • Interconnection of Labour Offices activities and guidance in schools • Terminology • Qualification standard of “career guide” (using NQF, NOF)

ELGPN and NGF - The Czech representation in the ELGPN is composed of the members of National Guidance forum: Pedagogical-Psychological Institute (coord.), Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Euroguidance Centre. - other members of the NGF are informed about development in the ELGPN during meetings of the NGF.

National Career Guidance Award Euroguidance Centre´s initiative with the objective to map the current situation in career guidance in the Czech Republic; aimed to find out what kind of bodies identify themselves as career guidance providers. Criteria: - Impact of guidance services on the labour market and further education; - Guidance of clients to self-help and to the development of career management skills; - Guidance providers´qualification background and their further training; - Access to the services.

National Career Guidance Award 2010 will be launched in mid-May 2010; main criteria: Accordance with the objectives of the Lifelong Learning Guidance; Prevention of the social exclusion; Professional Care of Career Counsellors. - 3 winners – the prize is a study visit in counselling centres in Sweden

National Guidance Forum structure and operation Established in 2007 as a non-formal groupment of various organizations dealing with lifelong learning; Its main aim was to coordinate the activities of career guidance in the CZ; About to be formalised by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports as an advisory body of these ministries in the field of career guidance in a lifelong perspective; is not going to replace already existing coordination structures in guidance, but to realize/achieve its aims through member organizations, working groups and project partnerships; Coordinating body; 2 year period (chairman/vicechairman/secretary).

National Guidance Forum – aims I (to be fulfilled through the member organizations): To coordinate the activities of subjects involved in the field of lifelong guidance); To propose conceptual measures in the field of LLG; To propose measures concerned with ensuring of quality of LLG services; To create suggestions for new legislative measures in the field of LLG; to be participant in the creation and professional assessment of these legislative measures; To be participant (through its members) in monitoring, research and the making of analysis of the actual state of the system of LLG

National Guidance Forum – aims II (to be fulfilled through the member organizations): To be participant in the standardization of professional activities of LLG providers which includes defining of the professional competences of providers of these services on specific levels as well as defining the qualification requirements for guidance professions on various levels; To provide (through its members) information, methodological and educational support to all concerned subjects with ensuring LLG services. The NGF cooperates with authorities/bodies of regional and local self- government and government. To ensure the exchange of information related to the activities in the field of LLG on national and international level, to provide relevant information about the situation of LLG in the CZ, to participate in various working groups, clusters EK etc.

National Guidance Forum - plans for 2011-2012 potential of ensuring the interdepartmental coordination of conceptual activities in the field of lifelong guidance on national as well as international level. crucial role in implementing the Strategy of Lifelong Learning in the field of lifelong guidance. key actor in the development of an integrated system of guidance services for the choice of educational route and career, to put citizens into a labour market and professional development in lifelong perspective (lifelong guidance)

National Guidance Forum - plans for 2011-2012 Through the NGF it should be possible (due to the potential of its members) to ensure the interdepartmental coordination of activities related not only to the obtainment of professional competences of career guidance providers within the frame of initial and further education. Moreover, the NGF could ensure the cooperation of projects realized in the area of lifelong guidance on departmental and interdepartmental level. It thus represents a much needed step in order to increase the synergy of set system changes on national level. As a consequent, it represents a contribution for more effective usage of financial resources of the state budget and the ESF.
