  3. The Setting … • The time frame is the late 1950s through the 1970s • From life in Greenbow, Alabama, to fighting in Vietnam, protesting in Washington, D.C. to living on a boat, and then back to life in Alabama & a small-town bus stop … Forrest Gump has it all!
