  1. Gluu releases Shibboleth Plugin for OX to enable simultaneous OpenID Connect and SAML sessions Gluu announced today that it has written and published a Shibboleth single sign-on Login Handler for the OX open source cloud identity platform to enable a person to get both an OpenID Connect and a SAML 2.0 session with one login. Additionally, OX custom authentication scripts can now be used by organizations to customize the business logic for multi-factor authentication, and to support a number of strong authentication solutions that were previously unavailable for Shibboleth deployments. "The Shibboleth Login Handler was a critical feature on our development roadmap, and we’re excited to offer customers the first cloud identity platform available for concurrent SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect sessions,” said Gluu CEO Mike Schwartz. “Furthermore, strong authentication is one of the most cost effective ways to increase security, and this plugin allows us to leverage the OX web interface to easily implement unique authentication logic in Shibboleth.” With the plugin deployed, a successful oxAuth authentication creates a new Shibboleth session to provide single sign on server capabilities via SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect.

  2. The dual functionality allows Gluu on demand and open source customers to support and create single sign on relationships with the most important websites and SaaS services today such as Google Apps, Salesforce, and Workday via SAML, while also supporting applications that would prefer to use JSON/REST authentication using the OAuth 2.0 profile OpenID Connect. Deployed in combination with other open source protocols including RADIUS, SCIM, UMA and LDAP, OX is a fully customizable, standards-based authorization and authentication platform that can run “out-of-the-box” on your existing hardware or a dedicated cloud server provided by Gluu. The login handler can be found in our public SVN: https://svn.gluu.info/repository/openxdi/oxAuth/ShibIdpClient For a demo of the complete platform, please contact us at sales@gluu.org. About Gluu: Gluu (gluu.org) is an Austin, TX startup that provides open source and on demand cloud identity and trust management

  3. Gluu leverages standards such as OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, and SCIM to make achieving single sign-on (SSO) secure and fast. Deployed quickly on public and private cloud servers, Gluu’s cloud identity platform helps organizations address the installation and operational issues of an organizational identity provider SAML at a predictable annual cost. About Shibboleth: Shibboleth is among the world’s most widely deployed federated identity solutions, connecting users to applications both within and between organizations. Shibboleth provides single sign-on capabilities and allows sites to make informed authorization decisions for individual access of protected online resources in a privacy-preserving manner. Every software component of the Shibboleth system is free and open source. About OX: OX is a dedicated open source cloud identity platform for enabling single sign-on and data sharing using SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect, a soon-to-be finalized standard and profile of OAuth 2.0. OX also leverages other complimentary open standards including RADIUS, Simple Cloud Identity Management (SCIM), and User Managed Access (UMA).
