The Middle Years Development Instrument

The Middle Years Development Instrument (MDI) measures areas of development strongly linked to well-being in children during their middle childhood years. This self-report questionnaire was developed through a collaborative process involving scientific experts, teachers, community members, and more. It assesses aspects of cognitive, social, academic, and physical development, as well as well-being indicators such as happiness, health, optimism, self-esteem, and connectedness. The MDI provides valuable insights into children's development and can be used to inform interventions and support their well-being.
