  3. Macromedia Inc. • The Beginning (1984 – 1992) • Macromedia Inc. was created under the name MacroMind, which was dedicated to giving artists high end video and audio. • It was created by Marc Canter with the help of his frilicensey Fenton and Marc Pierce.

  4. Macromedia Inc. (cont.) • In 1991 MacroMind merged with Paracomp which was an early leader in 3D graphics and the company was renamed MacroMind-Paracomp. • In 1992 MacroMind-Paracomp merged with Authorware to form Macromedia.

  6. Lexmark Inc. • Launched in 1991 as a spin-off of IBM. • It was the first company to market 4800 X 1200 dpi and 3600 X 1200 dpi resolutions.

  7. Lexmark (cont.) • Created stand alone photo printers. • It is a $4.4 billion enterprise. • Has rapid expansion in Latin America and Asia Pacific. • It develops and owns the technology inside its products.

  8. Lexmark Inc. (cont.) • It has reported compounded annual revenue growth of 12 percent over the past five years. • It makes Printers both Laser and Inkjet, and office and home supplies

  9. Activision • It opened its doors in 1979. • Its business involves the sales and marketing of products either by license or by third party publishers. • It’s the leading international publisher of interactive software products.

  10. Activision (cont.) • Its software products are designed for playing platforms such as Nintendo Game Cube, Sony Playstation, the Xbox and the Personal Computer including PC and Mac. • Its products include action, adventure, role-playing, and simulation among others.
