  2. Your Resources • Resources are assets that can be used to meet needs and fulfill wants. • Types of Resources • Human • Nonhuman • Private • Community

  3. Human Resources • Qualities and traits people have within themselves to get what they need or want. Also called personal resources. • Knowledge, skills, talents, health, energy, time, personality, creativity and work habits • As a student, what are human resources you have that make you a great student? • What hinders your ability to be a great student?

  4. Nonhuman Resources • Objects and conditions available to people to help meet needs and fulfill wants. Also it includes material and environmental resources. • Material resources-are the objects you own. (DVD, money, clothes) • Environmental resources- are assets found in nature. (water, air, soil) • As a student, what nonhuman resources help make you a great student? • What nonhuman resources hinder your ability to be a great student?

  5. Private Resources • Resources owned and controlled by a person or a family • Income, houses, or cars • As a student, what private resources help make you a great student? • What private resources hinder your ability to be a great student?

  6. Community Resources • Resourcesshared by everyone and paid for through taxes. Also called public resources. • Post Office • School • Colleges • Public Library • Garbage and recycling • Area transit • Sidewalks and traffic lights • Water and sewer • I wonder what the community of Raleigh is up to today http://www.raleighnc.gov/neighbors
