The sales of EVs grew up by almost 26% over the previous year - it was the highest in the global car market. The estimated units sold worldwide in 2021 were about 6.4 million. Globally, China tops the list for fast EV adoption. Many makers in China are rapidly turning into full-time EV Vehicle manufacturers. But, Norway is leading from the front with almost 80% EV adoption. In Norway, every 80 cars sold out of 100 are electric vehicles. It is almost a similar story across the world.

  1. How did EV Vehicle Manufacturers fare in 2021?

  2. It is not more than some time when our roads will see more electric cars than petrol, diesel, or gasoline variants. Aptly, electric cars are our future, and a lot of activity is happening in the EV industry globally. What makes it interesting is that every year there are more and more automobile manufacturers joining the bandwagon of making EVs. The global Electric vehicle manufacturing industry has big names and the local ones trying to up the game.

Globally, China tops the list for fast EV adoption. Many makers in China are rapidly turning into full-time EV Vehicle manufacturers. But, Norway is leading from the front with almost 80% EV adoption. In Norway, every 80 cars sold out of 100 are electric vehicles. It is almost a similar story across the world. 

  4. Amidst the pandemic, Tesla is the leading manufacturing company in the EV segment. It sold about 386,000 units in 2021’s first quarter. The second in the line was the Volkswagen Group had sold 332,000 units worldwide. GM was the third Electric Vehicle manufacturer, having achieved sales of 227,000 units. These are all the first-quarter results of 2021.  The most common vehicles that were sold worldwide included sedans, crossovers, and SUVs. The pickup truck, an electric model, is expected to add to the list very soon.
