  3. Background • AISI project • Reggio Amelio at I. F. Cox School • Requirement – Electronic Documentation of student achievement (Portfolio) • Must be able to archive video, audio, graphics, or any type of computer file • Informal assessment of work by self, peers, teachers, and parents • School Board member – education conference in Eastern Canada • Brought information back to the senior admin team

  4. Technology Coordinator researched out the software available • Online demo with staff from Concordia University in Montreal and Principal from I. F. Cox as well as Assistant Superintendent • Proposal from Concordia for research into electronic portfolios • Requirement for obtaining the software - Training

  5. Montreal training/information session for • Technology Coordinator • Principal • Teacher • Aide (responsible for electronic portfolios)

  6. Implementation • Installation on centralized file server • Runs on Mac, Windows, or Linux web servers • Choose as robust a server as possible • Requires enough storage space (hard drive space) on the server. Currently each user has a maximum limit of 75 MB. • Server must have PHP and MySql installed • After installation, you just need a web browser to make it work along with any other software that you currently have available for student use. • Currently being piloted in I. F. Cox School since October • Sample student work ….
