  1. Warm Up

  2. Trashketball

  3. John’s annual salary for the first 5 years of employment are given below.Let n = # years and f(n) = salary. 1) Write a function to model the data. 2) Use your model to determine John’s salary after 10 years of employment.

  4. No Calculator Charlotte Candies manufactures boxes of chocolates with a fixed overhead cost. They produce 100 boxes for $1050 and 300 boxes for $1450. • Write a function for the production cost in terms of number of boxes. • Explain the rate of change in terms of the number of boxes.

  5. Cylindrical tiles are stacked to form a triangle. There are 51 tiles on the bottom row and two fewer tiles per row. If there is only 1 tile in the top row, how many tiles are in the stack?

  6. Find the sum (if possible) 2) 5, 2, -1, -4, …, -184

  7. Determine whether the sequence is arithmetic, geometric or neither. If arithmetic or geometric, write the explicit formula. • 1.5, 1.2, 0.9, 0.6, … • 6.75, 9, 12, 16… • -12, 4, -4/3, 4/9, … • Ak+1 = Ak – 4, A1 = 3

  8. Write an explicit equation for the sequence described. • Arithmetic: A4 = -2, A9 = 486 • Geometric: A4 = -2, A9= 486

  9. Write the first four terms of the sequence • An = -3An-1 + 2, A1 = 2

  10. Determine the sum of each.

  11. Determine whether the sequence converges or diverges. If it converges, give the limit.

  12. The Crystal Shoppe has just received a shipment of a new designer bowl and is stacking them on the display. Olive works for the Crystal Shoppe and has measured the height of the stack of bowls and written it in the table.a. Write a linear function for the height of the stack of bowls in terms of the number of bowls in the stack.  b. What would be the height of 6 bowls?  c. If the maximum allowable height of a stack of bowls is 40 centimeters, what is the appropriate domain for this situation?d. Interpret the rate of change in the context of this situation.

  13. Write an explicit equation for the sequence and determine the indicated term of the sequence. • A2 = 3, r = 1.2, A10 = ____ • 18, 15, 12, 9, …, A25 = ____
