  7. Precontemplation= Awareness Contemplation= Insight Preparation= Planning Action= Make the move Maintenance= Long-term effort

  9. Self awareness can be: • Liberating…or • Met with defenses • Denial • Excuses We need information and hope.

  10. Contemplation Well, maybe. To change or not to change? Search for certainty. Act too soon.

  11. Facing the unknown vulnerability…fear powerlessness…body image loneliness…resentment

  12. Need motivation to act • Need motivation • Ask the tough questions • What are the consequences of change to self and others

  13. Preparation • Action plan • Multiple methods • Social/financial support • Reinforcement • Learn skills • Share commitment and plan • Create support network So okay. What do I do now?

  14. Celebrate! • Recognize how far you have come!

  15. Action = Change Okay. Let’s do this. • Keep on track… • Avoid triggers • Practice resistance • Reframe thinking
