We Test to Requirements We DO NOT Write Them We view Common Systems as a partner We test to the TPs specifically TP 76200 and TP 76450 We enforce requirements with the Vendors We work closely with Common Systems General Issues and Log Files: John Tablerion Power and Grounding: Ed Granger and John Messina Seismic and Cooling: Keith Lanning and Dave Redford Fiber: Don Mitrano and Mike Yeilding Copper: Wing Eng Drawings: Mike Burghardt’s Group Others as required 3

New Product Introduction Pre Lab Entry We work with Vendor before the Product is developed when possible We request a turn-key solution We stress AT&T requirements Vendors have to respond to TP 76200 as part of the RFP. We ensure a letter of Attestation if NEBS not yet completed Labs Project Management tracks NEBS completion Paperwork to John Tablerion Product cannot be deployed if failed without mitigation 4

New Product Introduction Pre Lab Entry – Con’t We consult with appropriate Common Systems SMEs when needed [who often visit NJ] Ed Granger on Ciena 5430, CRS-16, CRS-8, DWDM Don Mitrano/ Mike Yeilding on DWDM, OTN, CRS Keith Lanning on Cabinet and Racking We bring Common Systems SMEs when visiting Vendors Bon Pipkin and Dave Redford on Juniper, Cisco, ALU next gen routers 5

New Product Introduction Post Lab Entry Execute a 26 page Test Plan against the product Perform Power Testing Shutdown, startup and recovery We ensure all the parts fit Cable Management [LAN, Power and Fiber] We consult with Common Systems for suggestions We can get parts built quickly Towel bars, cabinets, 6

New Product Introduction Post Lab Entry – Con’t Assist with bay designs and drawings i.e. CRS, DWDM Review Test and Turn-up Documents We write Installation Verification documents if required Provide Tier IV support for field issues Interface to the Vendor [i.e. Juniper broken stud issue] Engage Common Systems [i.e. John Messina for MOW grounding issues] Provide or arrange for installation training for complicated products such as the CRS. 7

Examples of Some Success’s Vendors are now asking us to perform Design Reviews before they build the equipment Fuse Panel built into the 5430 eliminating external FAP New Fuse Panels 2nd Source Trimm Fuse Panel with a cost saving of $ 300 per panel High Current & 8 way Demarc Panels (T640, T1600, MX960, CRS-8) Universal IMPs CRS Multiple Training Classes for the OTV’s Slack Storage cabinet for Intra chassis ribbon fiber Test Set developed to test the ribbon fiber 11
