  2. Agenda • IAB Year in Review • Update from Helmut Welke, SVP at Large – Industry, review of BOT strategic plan initiatives for Industry • Proposed IAB leadership structure changes • New Business

  3. Welcome to the 3nd Annual Meeting! • IAB membership now stands at over 40 active industry professionals……and open to more! • We continue to “meet” 12 times each year via conference call on the 2nd Friday of every month, 10:30-11:30, EST • And we’ve recently added 10 new members, and continue to look for more

  4. Over the last 12 months we’ve focused on the following issues • Outreach to students at the College, High School and Middle School levels • Strengthening relationship with local chapters • Sponsor student chapter YouTube Video contest • Host an “Industry Focused” Track at the 2008 Annual Conference (yeah!!) • Strategies to strengthen ties with CIEADH

  5. Over the last 12 months we’ve focused on the following issues • Discussed best practice Recruiting Tools and strategies • Formal structure of IAB, including participant term, chair term, leadership structure and transition • Increase number of Industry Honorees • “Name Change” discussion

  6. “Objectives for the next year” from our 2007 Town Hall Meeting • Support IIEs marketing efforts with input on directions and materials as appropriate • Complete the High School/Middle School recruiting tools • Expand the number of active participants • Expand the specific industries represented • Provide a “Sounding Board” for the BOT via quick surveys, specific agenda items • Continue to add value for participants

  7. For 2008, we will continue to focus on issues central to our membership • Image, Branding and Differentiation of IEs • Outreach to students at the College, High School and Middle School levels • Continued career planning and development of our IE human resources • Formalize strategies to help increase the number of IEs at all levels of management, including the CXO levels • Finalize IAB orgnaization structure

  8. Proposed changes to IAB structure focused on orderly transition • Leadership structure of Chair-Elect and Chair to ease training and transition • Do we want to adopt a Chair-Elect, Chair, Past-Chair structure? • Limit term of members to 2 or 3 years? • With an Opt-In format used by the IAB, perhaps term limits aren’t as important? • Discussion of formal committees • We’ve been successful with ad hoc committee formation, strong sentiment to continue in this manner

  9. New Business • Suggestions for 2009 IAB Track? • Topics for future monthly conference calls? • New members or industries we should target? • Location of 1st Annual IAB Cocktail Party?
