  1. Porcelain Veneers - A Major Weapon in The Arsenal of A Cosmetic Dentist What is a veneer? A veneer is a thin layer of material which is used to cover up or protect the surface of a damaged tooth. It can also be used to regain the lost beauty of a tooth. So it has a touch of cosmetic effect as well. To construct a veneer two most commonly used materials are composite and porcelain. Veneers were firstly used to change the expression of artists when it was first discovered by a dentist named Charles Pincus. As in those days denture adhesives were used to fit the veneer so they were not very stable or rather they fell off within a very small amount of time. Nowadays with the discovery of improved cements and bonding agents a veneer can last up to a timeframe of ten to thirty years. So definitely it has now become a permanent solution for the persons who require veneers. Among the two types of veneers prevalent it can be said that porcelain veneers are much better than veneers made of resin. The reason being that the veneers made from porcelain have been proved to be more stain resistant than those made from composite materials. The veneers that are made from porcelain have also got much more natural looks with greater light reflective quality. However the choice of the material should be left in the hands of a dentist as he is a far better judge of the requirement. There are many reasons as to people requiring veneer treatment from a dentist. But the most important thing that a person requiring veneer should understand is that although there may be hundreds of cosmetic dentist present but only a few good dentists can perform the best veneer treatment. One of the important reason due to which a person requires veneer done is if the teethes are not aligned properly or disfigured due to accident or uneven or irregularly shaped. A person might also require veneers done if the teethes have lost their colouration or has become stained due to smoking, drinking etc. marylebone-implantcentre.co.uk/composite-veneers Crown Lengthening Services
