  1. NURSES LEAD, DELIVER AND SERVE IN THE COMMUNITY THAT GOD HAS CHOSEN FOR EACH ONE. WHY? BECAUSE GOD’S PURPOSE FOR EACH COMMUNITY AND FOR EACH NURSE IS GOOD.

  2. NURSES ARE PRIVILEGED PEOPLE • Privilege is a gift from God • Privilege brings responsibility • God never gives anyone privilege without the resources necessary to fulfill effectively the responsibility.

  3. RESOLUTION OF NURSING ISSUES Depends entirely on each Nurse’s willingness to • Ask for these resources • Seek these resources from the main source • Knock at doors with patience and perseverance until the right door is opened and the fullness of God’s blessed resources begin to flow in and out • Garner and use these resources for the good of others and for the glory of God.

  4. Nursing Issues • New Zealand • Tonga • Samoa • Fiji • Philippines • India • China • The War Zones • Every Nation large and small.

  5. Politics, Power and Nursing The politics of money management determines • The Nurse patient ratio and staff levels in the health services • The two-way process of the politics of power significantly influences the administration of Nursing Services, i.e., supply and demand.

  6. The Power Basis in Nursing • Is it based on education? • Is it based on financial standing? • Is it based on rationality? • Is it self-centered? • Is it based on reality? • Is it patient or client centered? • Is it based on genuine love and compassion? • Is it based on true justice and mercy? • Is it man centered or God centered?

  7. The Fruit of Power in Nursing Does it foster goodwill? Does it resolve burning issues? Does it bring job satisfaction? Does it generate respect?

  8. The Source of Power If the spiritual forces of evil often come on two feet complete with resume and talent Why should we doubt that God’s power of truth, justice and mercy is beyond the reach of Nurses?

  9. Desperate Situations call for Desperate Measures • The Power of crying out to God our Father • Being alert and active • Allowing the Holy Spirit to cry out within us. • Letting patience have its perfect work

  10. Our Mind Set A mind set controlled by the Holy Spirit gives us God’s input. What an advantage! He reveals the motives of others Enemies strategies Pitfalls waiting down the road

  11. Understanding God’s Purpose in Nursing God says: ‘Say to the Wind (His Holy Spirit) ‘Come breath upon us that they and we may live’. God didn’t say ‘Go speak’ (The bones were dry) No therapy session, no negotiating table can do what God can and does do When we ‘go to the wind’ then ‘go to the souls’ His promise is sure ‘I will move on your behalf’.

  12. Claiming God’s Intervening Power • Collective power through prayer • In the Name of Jesus • Examples found in the Bible and through sharing with other colleagues. • Join in Song ‘Your Word is a Lamp’ • Two or more to pray for specifics.

  13. The Word Is a Lamp 1 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet And a light unto my path. When I feel afraid, Think I’ve lost my way, Still You’re there right beside me, And nothing will I fear As long as you are near. Please be near me to the end.

  14. The Word Is a Lamp 2 Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet And a light unto my path. Now I will not forget Your love for me And yet my heart Forever is wandering. Jesus be my guide And hold me to your side, And I will love you to the end… (repeat lines 1 & 2)

  15. Step Forth in Faith • Expect the best • Be prepared to meet the worst with the wisdom God will give you at the time. • Commit your weakness to God and thank Him for the strength of His love and grace to ride unpleasant situations. • Thank God for every victory • Review the disappointments with Him for fresh wisdom, insight and understanding.

  16. Nurses are Politicians! Why? Because we are government officials! How? Because the government has been ordained by God to PROVIDE and PROTECT With True Justice and Mercy

  17. Nurses influence on Government Officials for Good Manifested by: The constant provision of good quality care The protection of every patient/client from any form of direct or indirect service failure. Doing what is right in the sight of God. Faithfully walking in the path of right Not turning aside and conforming to wrong Standing for, and practicing the truth Courageously identifying and refusing to collaborate with wrong.

  18. The Impossible made Possible by Nurses • Who stand before God in prayer for the Officials • Who claim His promise ‘Do not be afraid of this great multitude (of people and problems) for the battle is not yours but the LORD’s’ 2 Chronicles 20:6 - 12 • Listen for and heed His directions • Act in faith, encouraging one another with integrity not wavering. • Praise and thank God that nothing is hidden from Him and for His strength to withstand and overcome wrong with justice and mercy.

  19. Why Nurses can Nurse With A Difference No Issue in Nursing is beyond the Wisdom of God which is freely available to every Nurse in every Nation.
