  1. GreenTech(Sustainable Technology) The way of the future Tomorrows resources Today

  2. Definitions • Sustainable Technology • Purpose: To advance the understanding, development and application of technologies and methods of prevention, removal and control of environmental risks to human health and ecology. • Green Technology / Clean Technology • is the application of the environmental science to conserve the natural environment and resources, and to curb the negative impacts of human involvement. Sustainable development is the core of environmental technologies. When applying sustainable development as a solution for environmental issues, the solutions need to be socially equitable, economically viable, and environmentally sound.

  3. Advantages of going Green • Reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. • energy and water usage. • the amount of waste they generate as well as ensuring safe. • work conditions. • the amount of money that can be save. • easier and safer work environment.

  4. Disadvantages of going Green • workers are going to have be trained. • spend more money on the equipment depending on what it is. • spend more to fixed the equipment. • less employees need it.

  5. Jobs Affected by the creation of Green Collar Jobs The Original Coal Miners Oil Rig Workers Coal Miners Derek Hands Land Man Roughnecks

  6. Coal Miners along with many other jobs were first replaced by machines, now with the threat of global warming they are being replaces by green technology.

  15. Conclusion • A look into other countries shows us many developments into Sustainable Technologies that are in current use today and the jobs that were used or created to develop many green technology facilities. • The United States is far behind in utilizing these technologies and have a long way to go in the conversion process. Wasteful spending could be rerouted into the development of green buildings and technologies.
