  21. Feedback on the Financial Reporting 2017 • Reflecting the time given for the project implementation in 2017, the yearly budget components were used successfully. • Due to the late start of the programme in 2017, the average usage of the budget 2017 was about 63 %. • The average percentage of the costs of the Finnish universities is about 70% and the costs of the partners are 30%. • Due to the lack information on the total working hours of the partners, these could not be compared. • Most of the projects succeeded in the 20% self-financing. If the project could not fulfill the self-financing of the first implementation year, should the 20 % self-financing of the total project expenditures fulfill during the project cycle. Finnish National Agency for Education

  22. Tips for Financial Reporting of 2018 • Please provide the bookkeeping report in excel-form (no general ledgers). • Make sure that the bookkeeping report and the financial report match – if not, please provide the explanation of the variation in the bookkeeping report (can be a handmade marking). • If the expenditures of the partner university are not shown on the coordinating HEI’s bookkeeping report, please indicate in the financial report which costs are in which bookkeeping. • Also please mark the partner expenditures e.g. by hand after the total expenditures in the bookkeeping report so that the bookkeeping report and the financial report match. Finnish National Agency for Education

  23. Tips for Financial Reporting of 2018 • The project bookkeeping report should include: • The allocated wages, allocated social security costs or the computational social security costs and overhead expenses • The transfers of EDUFI and the transfers to the partner universities • Please indicate also the total working hours of the partners in the financial report. • As a general rule, hospitality costs are not eligible costs. Only direct costs related to meeting arrangements can be accepted, these can include catering costs in moderation. Funds cannot be used for gifts or alcohol. • If the expenditures under any cost item varies more than 15 %, should EDUFI be informed by a Change Request. Finnish National Agency for Education
