The ADIOS workplan – deliverables, milestones , bottlenecks and financial issues

This workplan outlines the deliverables, milestones, bottlenecks, and financial issues for the ADIOS project, conducted by the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries in Split, Croatia. It includes six work packages focused on field observations, climate modeling, hindcasting, projections, dissemination, networking, and capacity building. The publication plan highlights research papers on climate models, dense water dynamics, interannual variability, and future trends in the Adriatic. The bottlenecks and risk assessment section identifies computing resources, human capacities, and field trip challenges, along with contingency plans.

  5. ADIOS WP • Bottlenecks and risk assessment • High risk!: Computing resources are not adequate for running long-term high resolution runs • Contigency plan: To lower resolution of meteo model, to lower resolution of ocean model, to perform 2 of 3 planned scenario simulations, ... (Clea) • Medium risk: Human capacities for climate modelling and analyses of simulations not available • Contigency plan: To get other projects in parallel to secure salaries, to motivate people to do the best on the project :) • Low risk: To have a problem with field trips due to malfunction of instrumentation, overloading of r/v use, ... • Contigency plan: Careful field planning, regular calibration of instrumentation, optimisation of field trips
