  5. 3.) God Has Given Things Which Edify: When the church does it’s work, they preach truth causing growth & edification. (Ephesians 4:15-16) but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ-- from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. (NKJV)

  6. 3.) God Has Given Things Which Edify: When the church does it’s work, they preach truth causing growth & edification. (NKJV)

  7. 3.) God Has Given Things Which Edify: When the church does it’s work, they preach truth causing growth & edification. (Ephesians 4:29) Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. (NKJV)

  8. 3.) God Has Given Things Which Edify: When the church does it’s work, they preach truth causing growth & edification. (Ephesians 4:29) Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. (NKJV) Pure Speech Edifies

  9. 3.) God Has Given Things Which Edify: Sound Teaching of Doctrine Edifies: (Ephesians 4:11-14) And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, (NKJV)

  10. 3.) God Has Given Things Which Edify: Sound Teaching of Doctrine Edifies: (Ephesians 4:11-14) And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, (NKJV)

  11. 3.) God Has Given Things Which Edify: Sound Teaching of Doctrine Edifies: (Acts 9:29-31) And he spoke boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus and disputed against the Hellenists, but they attempted to kill him. When the brethren found out, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him out to Tarsus. Thenthe churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied. (NKJV)

  12. 3.) God Has Given Things Which Edify: Sound Teaching of Doctrine Edifies: (Acts 20:32) "So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” (NKJV)

  13. 3.) God Has Given Things Which Edify: Sound Teaching of Doctrine Edifies: (Titus 1:9-11) holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict. For there are many insubordinate, both idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain. (NKJV)

  14. 4.) edification manifests itself through love Principle: Love of brethren ALWAYStakes precedence over mere rights (not obligations) under the gospel. • “…when you thus sin against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.” (8:12)

  15. 4.) edification manifests itself through love Principle: Love of brethren ALWAYStakes precedence over mere rights (not obligations) under the gospel. • “…if food makes my brother stumble, I will never again eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble.” (8:13)

  16. 4.) edification manifests itself through love Principle: Love of brethren ALWAYStakes precedence over mere rights (not obligations) under the gospel. • (Philippians 2:7-8) but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. (NKJV)

  17. 4.) edification manifests itself through love Principle: Love of brethren ALWAYStakes precedence over mere rights (not obligations) under the gospel. • (Romans 14:21 - 15:2) “It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak. Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin. We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.”

  18. Jesus Said… “…he whohearsMy word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life…” (John 5:24) “…if you do notbelievethat I am He, you will die in your sins.“ (John 8:24) “…Repent, and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15) “…whoeverconfessesMe before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.” (Mat. 10:32-33) "He whobelievesand is baptized will be saved…” (Mark 16:16) “You are My friends if youdo whatever I command you…”(John 15:14 – live a faithful life) (Revelation 2:10) “…Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. “
