  3. 2009 registered as a Namibian Trust • 23employed staff + app. 60freelance facilitators • 2 offices (Windhoek + Ongwediva) • 14different training methods • 40,000people reached with in-depth training of 2-6 days (2006-2011) • 60,000people reached with outreach activities (Positive Speaking, Video Facilitation, etc.) The Numbers

Philosophy and Methods • Conscientizationmeans breaking through prevailing mythologies toreach new levels of awareness - inparticular, awareness of oppression, being an "object" of others’ will rather than a self-determining "subject.” • Conscientization…differs from "consciousness raising" in that the latter may involve transmission of preselected knowledge. • The process of conscientization involves identifying contradictions in experience through dialogue and becoming part of the process of changing the world. Key Outcomes • Bottom up advocacy: starting from the grassroots, assisting people plan and mobilise around their own causes, their own issues as they relate their lives. • Self-esteem for better self efficacy: internalization of knowledge, changing attitudes and behaviour, dealing better with stigma(individual and societal levels), better uptake of services, etc. • Conducive environment: better links/relationships between affected communities and local, regional and national governance structures; assist in achieving better understanding of legal policy frameworks for both implementers and affected communities
