  1. Bell-work 8/30/13 Explain why the Separatists wanted to leave England and what they were seeking in the New World. TSWBAT describe the New England colonies EQ: Why were the New England colonies founded?

Objective and Scales: • The student will be able to investigate the New England colonies of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut as evidenced by a completed travel journal • Where does today’s objective fit into the LGS, what goal are we achieving today? • Yes, we are finishing goal C!  • Update your TOC to include page #12: New England Colonies Travel Journal • Set up page 12 with a page number and title

Carousel Activity and NB Setup • Today we are going to travel to three New England colonies: Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts • You will learn why and who helped to start each colony, about the people in the colony, the climate, geography, economy, religion, and government of the colony. • Along the way you should keep a journal of your findings…I will show you how to organize it. 

  4. Ticket Out • Complete your progress chart for objective C • If you can compare and contrast Roanoke, Jamestown, and Plymouth you are at mastery level! 
