  1. Julington Creek NEWSLETTER News about the collective work at the Julington Creek church of Christ and updates on individuals and families. Volume 1 Issue 5 July 22, 2012 A MESSAGE TO WRITE ON EVERY MEMBER'S HEART If the following 7 statements could be written on every member's heart, each congregation would flourish. We must take these thoughts and attach to them to our soul. 1. The church must radiate a godly and loving influence in the community. “I” must live the example of a Christ-like life. 2. The church must have faithful and courageous leaders. Therefore, “I” must pray for the elders and remember that the leadership is made of mortals like myself. “I” must help them to be stronger (Heb. 13:17). 3. The church has ongoing financial obligations. “I” must give my fair share! Though “I” may be away from home on several Lord's days during the year, yet “I” must leave my gift that the work of the local church not be hindered. (I Corinthians 16:1-2) 4. The church, like a delicate flower, cannot thrive in a frigid atmosphere. “I” must bring a warm heart into the assembly. Even as Jesus loved me, “I” must love the brethren. (John 13:34-35) 5. The church must offer to strangers the same warmth and love a mother offers to her children. “I” must seek out visitors, welcoming them, and encouraging them to come again. 6. “I” must support 100% the assembly of the saints. “I” will never have it said the church suffered because “I” did not support the times set aside for worship and spiritual training. (Hebrews 10:25) 7. The church must grow! This is God's will!!! “I” must use my ability and talents to win souls for Christ. “I” must study God's word, and then “I” must go forward to the people and share the salvation which is in Christ. SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY Romans 12:18-21 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. niv OUR SHEPHERDS: Pete Martindale & Steve McCain EVANGELIST: Denny Freeman
