  2. Issue: Longitudinal survey lines and sparse cross-sections used to certify dredged channel Next Step: Dialogue with district to determine reason for survey approach; encourage more common format with more cross-sections.

  3. Issue: Long turn-around time for after-dredge survey and data processing, producing idle time for dredge. Corps Surveyors Suggestion: Preliminary results produced and available within 24 hours of completion of survey. Dredgers Suggestion: Corps survey expert onboard and monitoring dredge or 3rd party survey boat to certify survey. Next Step: Further discussion needed with Corps surveyors.

  4. Issue: Surveys as old as 30 months provided to contractor to estimate dredging job. Next Step: Dialogue with districts to determine reasons for old surveys; lack of funds, unavailable personnel, other. Issue: Improper application of Survey Manual in contract specifications and acceptance of dredge results. Next Step: Memorandum to Corps districts advising that Corps surveyors be included in review of contract specifications and be present at pre-construction meetings.
