  2. Jazz • Music of improvisation. • Grew out of Negro blues. • Was born in New Orleans. • Changed the lifestyle of the people all over the world. • The first well-known jazz soloist was Louis Armstrong - “King of jazz”. • Saxophones, trumpets, trombones, a piano and a singer.

  3. Rock-n-roll. • Destroyed the laws of morality. • Was popular among the teenagers. • Elvis Presley was known as “The King of rock- n- roll”. • In 1954 recorded the first song. • Sold millions of records. • Appeared in 33 films.

  4. The Beatles.Soft rock. • Liverpool is their birthplace. • Music is more energetic and powerful. • John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. • Best songs are “Yesterday”, “ Love me do”, “Yellow submarine”. • “Beatlemania” in the 1960-s.

Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Metallica.Hard rock and heavy metal. • Music became aggressive. • It was a protest against the order. • Electronic equipment for light and sound, special effects. • The musicians combined rock and classical music. • Became popular among the young. • Shocked the public by their music and behaviour.

Pop music. • Good for having a rest. • Became extremely fashionable among young people. • Madonna, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Spice Girls, Backstreet boys. • Did a lot to change the outlook of the people, make peace, bring some positive social changes. • Still play a great role in the life of people.
