Symptoms

Symptoms

  • Webbed skin

  • Low hair line at back of neck

  • Drooping eyelids

  • Differently shaped ears

  • Abnormal bone growth

  • Edema- extra fluid in the hand’s and feet

  • Stunted growth (4’7’’)

  • Inability to have children on their own

Cause

Cause

  • An abnormal/incomplete development of the second X chromosome on the sex determining chromosome.

  • Chromosomal abnormality is the cause of this disease.

Treatment

Treatment

  • No specific cure, chromosomal

  • Growth hormone treatment

  • Estrogen replacement

  • In vitro fertilization

  • Karyotyping is the only way to see before birth if the girl is missing an “X” chromosome.
