  5. Secondary Programme • Continued from Primary years • Students are expected to be more mature, more independent and more responsible • More things to learn: • Life skills • Knowledge • In the future can continue to higher education and better life quality

Why Cambridge Secondary 1 Programme? • Cambridge Lower Secondary incorporates internationally benchmarked tests (Cambridge Checkpoints). • For Cambridge Upper Secondary, Cambridge IGCSE is the world’s most popular international academic qualification, available in over 70 different subjects. Cambridge O Level is extremely popular also.   7. Cambridge Secondary 1 is flexible • Can accommodate local curricula or use any curricula to develop students understanding • Can include required contents so that students can join the national examinations (UN SMP)

  10. Learning activities • School starts @0730 • Each lesson period is 40 minutes • The period allocation is shown on the table • School finishes @1500 + ECA

  11. Basic rules • Expected to attend school every day • If absent, present a letter as soon as possible • Do not come late • Wear uniform every day, worn properly • For PE, bring and wear PE uniform • For Lab, bring and wear Lab Coat • There is a set of regulations in the student’s manual

  12. Learning resources • From teachers, books, internet, any other relevant resources • Textbooks are required • Student must prepare: • Pen, pencil • Ruler • Compasses • Protractor • Set triangle rulers • Scientific calculator • English dictionary • Note book & exercise book for every subject

Evaluation • Students are evaluated in three aspects: knowledge, attitude and skill (for relevant subjects) • Passing criteria: • Students are expected to achieve acceptable results: B for attitude and C for skills • Students are expected to achieve at least 60 for • English • Math • Science • Students are expected achieve at least the average score of 60 from all subjects

Parental Communication • Effective communication with parents is important to support student’s learning • Everyday communication: Communication Book, please check every day • Parents will be called to school to discuss about student’s progress 6 times a year: • After quarter test I • After quarter test II • Report day for each semester
