  6. Kielder Reservoir Facts Constructed - 1975-1981 Length - about 7 miles. Area - 10 sq kilometres. Capacity - 200 million cubic metres. Cost - £167m. Position: 1m east of Kielder or 1m west of Falstone, Northumberland. Grid Ref: NY 706 871 (dam at east end of reservoir).

  7. Reservoir questions Kielder Water. Study student book p. 139. Then answer the questions below. How are reservoirs created? What is the capacity of Kielder Water? When was the dam built? How long did the reservoir take to fill? Name three main towns served by Kielder Water. Why do tourists come to Kielder Water?
