  1. 3/11 Bell Ringer State and Madison is the center of the city. The farthest southwest part of Chicago is 20 miles south and 10 miles west of State & Madison. The farthest northeast part of Chicago is 20 miles north and 10 miles west of State & Madison. How far is it from the SW corner of the city to the far NW corner? Example Problem in Notes: • Karla is shopping on State & Madison (0,0) when she gets a call from Valeria saying that their celebrity crush, Usher, is signing autographs at Foot Locker 6 miles west and 4 miles south of her current location. Karla doesn’t want to miss this opportunity, so she starts running. Halfway there she gets tired and needs to refuel, so she stops at Chipotle. (a) What are the coordinates of Chipotle? (b) Once she finally gets to Foot Locker to meet her celebrity lover how far had she run?

If you finish one set of doors, move on to another. • Door 1 = Midpoint Formula • Door 2 = Distance Formula • Door 3 = Pythagorean Theorem • You may work alone or with 1 partner of your choice. • Mr. Chrischilles will be walking around either letting you know if you’re earning extra credit or losing points.
