  2. The Southeast’s Culture Jazz is famous in New Orleans, Louisiana. Over 105,000 Native Americans live in the Southeast today. They all speak English. However, the Cherokee prefer using syllabary.

  3. The Southeast's Climate A growing season is the number of days in year when the weather is warm enough for crops to grow. Since the Southeast has such a long growing season, Southeastern farmers can grow most crops such as peanuts and oranges. Since the Southeast is so close to the equator, it has a warmer climate than other regions. Many tourists visit the Southeast every year because of it’s warm climate.

  4. Geography in the Southeast The Everglades are in Florida. The Mississippi River is the longest river in the United States. It includes Puerto Rico. The Appalachian mountains are in Virginia, West Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky & North Carolina.

  5. ECONOMY Cash crops – A crop that is grown to be sold rather then be used on the farm where it is grown. Economy-The way a country or other place uses or produces natural resources ,and goods. Agriculture-The business of growing crops and raising animals. Coal mining and tourist attractions are important in the economy in the southeast. Coal mines and theme parks are major parts in economy in the Southeast.
