HCI TEAM 13 PACTS Elements • People: • A user group of age 17+ • Mainly college and university students • Activities: • Login/Register • Calendar for events and birthdays • Adding/sharing albums • Adding/sharing videos • Updates of friends • Change settings • Search people, messages, calendar entries • Instant Messenger • Write on boards of people • View profiles • Add/Remove friends • Accept/Reject friend requests • Show notifications and reminders

HCI TEAM 13 PACTS Elements • Context: • Web based so can be accessed from any computer/smart phone • Flexible to changes • Clear and simple layout, pages accessible easily • Quick register • “Remember Me” option for less time spent on login page • Technology: • Any product with a web browser, computer/phone • May support Flash/java • Success Factor: • Includes IM which can be minimised whilst browsing other pages • Any page is accessible from the side bar • Daily reminders shown on Updates page • Browsing through albums more efficient

  5. HCI TEAM 13 Here is the part of STATS document which shows the ratings given for each website design As it is shown below, the ranks are very close so we decided to use the best features of each design to create the fourth and final version.

HCI TEAM 13 • Functionalities: • Login/Register Session • Search people, messages, calendar entries • Instant Messaging • Minimizing IM while browsing other pages • View profiles • View calendar • Add/Delete friend • Accept/Reject friend requests • Write on the "Board" • Show updates of the user • Show notifications and reminders • Create/edit/delete albums • Change settings • Logout • Add/view/delete videos • See updates of friends • Edit profile details

  8. HCI TEAM 13 Here is the web map of the website. The sidebar always stays at the right hand side of the page so browsing through pages is easy i.e. every page is connected to each other. The diagram shows the map between Login, Profile, Inbox, Calendar, IM and Friends pages

  9. HCI TEAM 13 Every section on the sidebar is accessible from any other section (apart from Logout – the user needs to Login again). When the user is on one of the pages, that section is highlighted. The user is currently on Profile Page 1 unread message in Inbox 2 Friend Requests The user is logged on Instant Messenger
