Federal, State, District, and School requirements are in place for accountability purposes that include: • Federal: The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), Title I: Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged, P.L. 107-110 • State: Section 1008.33, Florida Statutes • District: Section 1001.42(16), Florida Statutes • According to Section 1001.42(16)(a), Florida Statutes, relating to powers and duties of district school boards • School: Section 1001.42(16)(a), Florida Statutes

  7. Available Processes School Improvement Planning is a continuous cycle used by schools to ensure that all students are achieving high academic levels.

Planning, Implementing, Monitoring, and Evaluating the School Improvement Process • Remember that this is a team process. • Communication is ongoing for all stakeholders. • Updates can be made throughout the year based on evaluations. • Work towards consensus that will impact student achievement. • Hire and retain highly qualified teachers. • Provide relevant professional development.

Timelines • Schools work on SIPs Sept. 8 – Sept. 22 • Regional Centers/or appropriate office – review and return SIPs to schools for updates – Sept. 22 – 26 • Schools complete updates – Sept. 26 – Oct. 1 • Final Regional Center/or appropriate office reviews – Oct. 1-3 • Schools post to BSI and notify the OSSIP by Oct. 6 for final review
