Battery Collection Only battery waste generated at Berkeley Lab should be placed in the green bucket.  Don’t put computer parts, mercury containing devices, or sharp metal objects in the battery buckets. All 9V batteries must have the terminals taped (tape attached to battery bucket) to prevent the possibility of fire or sparking. Automotive batteries (lead acid) can be sent to salvage as long as the caps are intact and the body is not damaged or cracked. For more information, contact Nancy Rothermich, x4644
