  2. Muhammad • No picture will be included of him, because in the Muslim culture his face is not usually depicted. • Born in Mecca in 570 A.D. He Passed in 622 A.D. He lived with his grandfather because his parents died when he was very young.

  3. Mecca • He lived in the modern day holy city, Mecca. • Not much is known about is early life and young adulthood, except the fact that he was an orphan adopted by his grandfather, then later on his uncle, and that he married a rich widow named Khadija.

  4. Revelation • While thinking upon the idolatry and materialism of Mecca, he was deeply disturbed to see what the Muslim holy city has come to. He began to fast and meditate in caves outside the city. One time he had a vision where he saw a Supernatural, all-powerful being. It was God. This changed his life forever.

  5. The Spreading of His Message • After his revelation, Muhammad began to spread the word and preach in the name of God. • This made the new military based government of Mecca furious, and they took action against it. They tried to assassinate him. • Muhammad and his group of Muslim followers moved to Medina.

  6. Era of war • Muhammad and the Muslims he brought with him to medina and the Military leaders had so much tension between them that they broke out into war. • They Muslims were being slaughtered at first, but somehow banded together to defeat the military dictators and their troops in many battles.

  7. Muhammad’s Last Days • By the time Muhammad was an old man, the power had shifted dramatically in favor of the Muslims and his word had been spread throughout all of Mecca and Medina. • He was becoming a living legend for all that he did to get the freedom of his people from the dictatorship. • He would be forever remembered.

  8. Bibliography • JebrelDia was my only source. Ha is a Muslim who came Senegal, Africa. He studies Muslim history every day, especially Sunday, and prays five times a day. He reads the Quran as well when he has spare time.
