  1. Data Center of the Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute SYSTEMATICS OF NUCLEAR GAMMA TRANSITIONS I.Mitropolsky

  2. Gamma Transitions in Level Schemes

  3. Data Base of Transitions • A, Z, N – nuclides, • R – kind of excitation (reaction or decay), • EG, δEG – transition energyand its uncertainty, • EL, δEL – energy of the initial level for allocated transition and uncertainty, • XL – transition multipolarity, • Jπ – spin and parity of the initial level, • IG, δIG – transition intensity and uncertainty, • B(XL) – reduced transition probability, • α(XL) – conversion coefficient

  4. Systematics of Nuclear Gamma Transitions In the ENSDF there are 237682 gamma transitions in 1985 nuclides. Energies of 49164 transitions are given without uncertainties. The largest number of transitions NG is : 1984 for38Ar, 1329 for 53Mn, 1168 for51Mn, 1130 for55Mn, 1024 for187W, 1009 for49V.

  12. Newcomb-Benford law Analysis of distribution of the first significant digits in the large sets of measurement results (experimental data). S.Newcomb [Amer. J. Math., 1881, v. 4, p.39] observed that the earlier pages of logarithmic tables were more worn than later pages. He concluded that numbers with low valued leading digits arose more frequently in calculations. F.Benford [Proc. Amer. Philos. Soc., 1938, v.78, No.4, p.551] published the distributions of leading digits in 20 data sets taken from a wide variety of sources.

  14. Newcomb-Benford Law for the Transition Energies

  15. Half-lives of nuclear states

  16. Distribution on the first significant digits in nuclear half-lives

  17. Distribution on the first digits for nuclear half-lives with definite uncertainties

  18. Resume «There are two main human sins from which all other follow: impatience and negligence. Because of impatience people were expelled from Eden, because of negligence they don't come back there». Franz Kafka in my translation
